First here's notice of a few upcoming Rab Noakes concert dates:

Celtic Connections 2012
Rab is part of the team organising a night for Gerry Rafferty to be held on Sunday 22nd January in the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall.

Due to the incredible demand for tickets a second show has been added to take place on Monday 23rd January.

On Tuesday 31st January there will be a Rab Noakes & Friends concert in the Strathclyde Suite at GRCH.

He will also be involved in the UCS @ 40 night in The Old Fruitmarket on 5th February.

Further details on all of these shows, including online booking, are available on the Celtic Connections website: www.celticconnections.com

Next Year
The first appearance of 2012 happens as the year begins. Along with Emma Pollock, Rab will be on BBC Scotland‚s Hogmanay Show. That‚s on BBC One Scotland from 1145pm. They will perform a couple of Gerry Rafferty songs to commemorate his work and flag up the Celtic Connections concerts. If you're elsewhere in the UK and have Sky, you can watch the programme via Sky Channel 971

Smooth Operations have released an album of the songs featured on 'The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan - A Folk Tribute' programme broadcast on BBC Radio 2 in May including I Shall Be Free, performed by Rab Noakes with Fraser Speirs. This album is available via iTunes.

House Concerts
We continue to have a good uptake on house concerts, with a number of events across the country from Bicester to the Black Isle. If anyone is interested in hosting such a thing (it is literally a concert in your living room) then please send us an email to mail@go2neon.com and we'll discuss it further.

Radio

Bob‚s Ballad Bases, the programme we made for BBC Radio 2, will be broadcast on BBC Radio Scotland on 3rd January at 4pm.

We are currently working on the initial development of a major series on Arts & Culture for BBC Radio Scotland. This will air from April to September 2012 - more detail to follow.

Don‚t forget John Cavanagh, and some other interesting record-spinners, on Radio Six International.

TV

Neon‚s commission from BBC TV to produce a celebratory, commemorative feature on Gerry Rafferty was broadcast in August to much acclaim. It is due to be shown early in the new year on BBC Four. If you're interested in Gerry visit the Real Gerry Rafferty Facebook site. His own offical website is now open at www.gerryrafferty.com
