RAB NOAKES

Do you see the lights?
- Rab's first album, released in 1970, is available on CD.  Please order through the Neon site at www.go2neon.com or contact James on 0141 429 6366 or mail@go2neon.com.

Do you see the lights? is also available to download from the Neon shop. Due to the conditions of the licence deal the album is downloadable in full only - I'm afraid individual
tracks are not available.

Unlimited Mileage, the most recent album from Rab & The Varaflames is
available. It features a broad collection of songs recorded with two separate

Varaflames line-ups.

“A rare compendium offering the strength in depth of his songwriting.” Living Tradition

“A very enjoyable album of country-tinged folk-rock and it does seem that Noakes has collected some of his best songs for it.” Rock’n’Reel

You can hear sample tracks by clicking on the Jukebox link at the top of
the page, and it can be purchased online from the Neon shop.

A press release for Unlimited Mileage is available to download by clicking
here (PDF format).

Rab Noakes House Concerts

We've had a good uptake on Rab Noakes house concerts, with a number of bookings across the country. If anyone is interested in hosting such a thing (it is literally a concert in your living room) then please make email contact to mail@go2neon.com or call Stephy or James on 0141 429 6366 - we’ll discuss it further.

See below for a picture from one house concert in a lovely garden in Aberdour, Fife

Future recordings

Rab is going into the recording studio this month to begin work on a new album.  It has the working title of ‘Standing Up again’ as it is being made on the live, single-take principle like Standing Up.

FIM in Johannesburg

Rab & Stephy spent a few delightful days in South Africa where Rab was part of the British Musicians’ Union delegation to the International Federation of Musicians Congress in Johannesburg. It was really interesting to hear of the musicians’ lot in other countries as well as visiting, and experiencing the hospitality of, the new South Africa.

One.

SYNC ME

Neon's newest business initiative, SYNC ME, supported by the Scottish Music Futures Fund, is going well.

Dealing exclusively with synchronised music for TV, film and advertising, SYNC ME offers fast and easy access to a catalogue of pre-cleared quality music from Scottish composers, songwriters, publishers and record companies.

Dave Arcari of Neon is currently making progress placing material with audio-visual producers and ad agencies.
